The three Royal colleges of physicians share this common three-part of the assessment in general medicine which consists of one clinical examination and two written parts. Examinations are held throughout the united kingdom and in overseas centers.

Examination course:

The complete MRCP course divided into  3 parts 

MRCP part 1

MRCP part 2 AND

Clinical Examination or PACES

MRCP part 1

It is the first examination of the course. Questions designed single best answer format. 

MRCP part 2 

In the second step, the question pattern same as MRCP part one but the questions are more detailed and difficult. 

MRCP pases 

Pases or clinical examination is the final part. The international examinee must attend to UK centers or overseas centers.  The examination process consists of  5 stations.

 Station 1:Tests the ability of candidates to examine the respiratory system and abdomen examination. 

Station 2: Tests the examinee`s history-taking ability. 

Station 3:Tests the ability of a candidate`s ability to examine the cardiovascular system and neurological examination.

Station 4:   Tests of knowledge about communication skills and medical ethics. 

Station 5: Consist of integrated clinical assessments requiring the candidate to take the history, clinical examination, differential diagnosis, management and communicate the plan to the patient.
